Returning to Chen Ji Mountain, Mo Qing and I both went back to our rooms.

After utilizing Zhi Yan’s body, I crawled under the blanket and made my soul leave her body but did not let Zhi Yan return. I caught her first to ask about the events during that year after I died.

Zhi Yan answered carelessly, she said at that time she was still young and was pampered since childhood, so she was unclear on the events in Jiang Hu. She only knew that the event that led to Sima Rong’s broken legs was designed by Nan Yue Sect in the Ten Great Celestial Sects. However, she absolutely did not know how it was planned in the end.

I stroked my chin in deep thought, this Nan Yue Sect that Zhi Yan mentioned, in my opinion, was probably a sect regarded as the least influential out of the Ten Great Celestial Sects. They lived in the southwest, quite far away, besides the Sect Leader was someone who preferred to be mysterious. He never intervened in the affairs of the other sects. Even during that time, the battle in the Sword Tomb, I did not see any of Nan Yue Sect’s men.

A sect such as this, unexpectedly planned to harm Sima Rong?

“Which year did this happen?”

“I’m unclear on which year it was…” Zhi Yan thought for a moment, “At that time, after the battle in the Sword Tomb ended, you died and Li Chen Lan took up the position. In Jiang Hu, it was boiling and raging with noise for a long time. After a while, everyone then had time to pay attention to other news. But by then, Sima Rong’s legs were already broken.”

I frowned: “Li Chen Lan knew Sima Rong was harmed by Nan Yue Sect and he didn’t do anything?”

“He did.” Zhi Yan blinked her eyes at me, “Although, everyone is still verbally saying Ten Great Celestial Sects, Ten Great Celestial Sects right now, but in reality, there are only Nine Great Celestial Sects.”

I was shocked.

Zhi Yan pointed at the shared wall to Mo Qing’s room, her expression was slightly fearful: “Nan Yue Sect was wiped out by him.”

I was stumped for a moment and then pretended to make a calm and collected “oh” sound.

I always thought that Mo Qing chose to operate with benevolence, even divided land to the people and distributed congee. In Jiang Hu, he was unlikely to do anything drastic. It turned out that he only employed an affable image to cover up his face, in order to wipe the hot blood on his hands.

“I still distinctly remember some of this event. I often went to Jian Xin Sect to find Cang Ling; during that time, Jian Xin Sect always had a lot of visitors there, every elder looked to be all beaten black and blue. Later, Li Chen Lan massacred the Southwest in a single night…”

I interrupted Zhi Yan: “Before Li Chen Lan wiped out Nan Yue Sect, did you guys receive news?”

“That’s right, he spread the news. He said within three months, he will slaughter Nan Yue Sect.”

I raised my eyebrow; once again I did not expect that this Ugly Little Monster was actually such an outstandingly brave person.

If this matter was done by me, I would bring manpower to directly kill them all. After this matter came to an end, I would watch if it was done beautifully or not. If this was done beautifully, then I would ruthlessly show off. If this was not done beautifully, then I would smother it and not utter a word. In any case, I had never notified anyone before. As long as people knew that Nan Yue Sect apologized to me, then I broke them into pieces, and my Wan Lu Sect did not suffer from these losses, then that was good.

But Mo Qing announced to the whole world that he would execute his own plan in three months. Was this not informing people in advance to be prepared for the I-want-to-go-beat-you-up moment.

If by any chance, this was executed badly, not just losing his own face, this would make it much more difficult to beat people up later.

But this matter was handled by Mo Qing as such — he earnestly slaughtered the other sect, directly wiped out Nan Yue Sect entirely and erased its existence from the Ten Great Celestial Sect — he indeed gained a great deal of face.

I guessed this could be considered as the battle for Mo Qing to establish a reputation for himself in Jiang Hu after taking over Wan Lu Sect. As a result, when Zhi Yan saw him nowadays, she was scared into that disgusting behavior. In their eyes, Mo Qing was a vicious and merciless demon that was no less than me.

I shot a glance at Zhi Yan and ridiculed her: “You guys are all celestial sects, mutually calling each other brothers, and yet at this critical moment of life and death, how come you guys didn’t help them?”

“For the battle in the Sword Tomb, each and every sect mobilized their own most elite disciples. During the fight, everyone was completely wiped out, which great celestial sect could recover so quickly…” I also pointed over there to Mo Qing’s wall, “Look, that person’s sect recovered very quickly.”

Zhi Yan’s mouth twitched with a bitter face: “He naturally went and did it alone. He also did not command any of the disciples of Wan Lu Sect.”

He single-handedly entered Nan Yue Sect and eradicated the entire sect… I could not help but lift the tip of my eyebrow, Sima Rong’s legs were broken and this anger of Mo Qing was so great that it was somewhat beyond my expectations. Apparently, the relationship between them was truly not simple.

I was not able to ask anything else, the sun rose outside and Zhi Yan’s soul returned. I gave her a task, made her practice cultivation through meditation in the morning, and then go find people to burn paper offerings for me in the afternoon. While I glided to Mo Qing’s place, I planned to follow and carefully examine him, to see if he had already discovered any unusual clues on Zhi Yan’s body.

But as the entire day wore on, it seemed like Mo Qing did nothing unusual, he did things that a Sect Leader should do every day. Afternoon arrived, Zhi Yan went out and a Dark Guard came to report her whereabouts. Mo Qing was only listening while looking through the documents.

I was at his side observing him, watching his every expression; I looked at him flipping through the pages, stared at his eyes for a moment, shifted to his nose for a while, my eyes roamed all over his body, and he did not even detect me.

[This face truly warms the heart and delights the eye.]

I simply raised my head up and reclined on the table. I lounged on the documents he was properly examining. His gaze pierced through my face to look at the characters below. Yet he could not see my face that was almost within his reach.

I simply enjoyed this small advantage, candidly peeking at him and feeling his hand move in my body from turning each page of the document.

Everyone said that Qin Qian Xian was captured by me for one single night, and then developed an inner demon. Then what about Mo Qing? If he knew that I kept staring at him like this, looking at him for such a long time, would he develop an inner demon?

I reached out my hand wanting to touch his face…

In fact, I was still somewhat looking forward to Mo Qing’s appearance when he develops an inner demon.

Imagining his looks of silent endurance, shyness, and resistance, I could not help but feel a subtle sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

The tip of my finger passed through Mo Qing’s countenance and he did not feel a thing. I just laid there like this and played for a while. Another Dark Guard came in, after his salutations he informed Mo Qing, he said that Zhi Yan was at the foot of the mountain and met up with Liu Cang Ling.

Hearing Zhi Yan’s name, I was suddenly startled and looked down at my own semi-transparent hand. I whirled my body up to stand beside the table once again.

How did I get muddle-headed, I seduced Mo Qing merely because after taking possession of Zhi Yan’s body, she had a weaker constitution, so I was forced to temporarily act. Seducing him was my method to reach my goals, how… Did it develop from a hobby and became a habit.

Furthermore, if Mo Qing knew it was Lu Zhao Yao seducing him, would he still be reluctant to resist; or maybe I should already raise my blade and slashed it down, so blood could splash out on the spot.

I stood by the table with my arms folded, forced myself to suppress my thoughts and maintained a solemn expression. Listening to the Dark Guard’s report, Zhi Yan met Liu Cang Ling at the foot of the mountain, and they looked like they were in some sort of entanglement for a while. On Mo Qing’s face, there was no expression, as if this matter absolutely did not enter his ears at all. But a moment later, he asked: “Is there anything abnormal in Jian Xin Sect recently?”

“To answer Great Master, there is nothing abnormal.”

I listened to this answer and temporarily shifted my attention to other things.

Recently everything in Jian Xin Sect was normal? Their young master disappeared and continuously stayed at the foot of Chen Ji Mountain refusing to leave, even ordinary people would be skeptical about it. Perhaps their young master was monitored by Wan Lu Sect, or perhaps threatened by Wan Lu Sect and needed to be rescued, but they unexpectedly did nothing at all? Completely…

[Without abnormality?]

[This is precisely the biggest abnormality.]

Mo Qing laid down the thing in his hand and his eyes slightly converged. He seemed to be contemplating about something, and then he called for the Captain of the Dark Guard to come.

My former captain was a courageous and strong fellow. But the current one was an elegant and refined young man with his face covered and carried a sword. Mo Qing ordered him: “Go and investigate the recent situation in Jian Xin Sect.”

“Yes.” The captain replied once and blinked away in an instant.

Previously, the Dark Guards was solely responsible for reporting things that happened inside Wan Lu Sect. Now that Sima Rong had left, did Mo Qing assign all of Sima Rong’s duties to the Dark Guards?

I stayed beside Mo Qing for a while longer, but I did not know why the more I stayed, the more uncomfortable I felt. I simply withdrew from his room, returned to Zhuo Chen Hall, and sat waiting for Zhi Yan to return.

I intended to go to the ghost market tonight. Regarding that malicious spirit, Small Round Face, I still had things that needed to be investigated. Moreover… I still had to buy an Energy Boost Pill for Zhi Yan, to avoid when I wanted to use her someday, she would not drag my feet.

  1. Aww, a short chapter but still nice to read. The scene where Zhi Yan explains about how there are only Nine Celestial Sects left is one of my favorites. Zhao Yao is so indignant on Sima Rong’s behalf and then she finds out that Li Chen Lan just wiped out an entire sect all by himself for revenge. Her reactions were priceless 😀
