Ostentatious Zhao Yao ~ Ch 64.01

Hello dear readers!

I didn’t expect to be gone for almost 2 months from sewing masks. I thought this mask hustling thing would only last about a month, but it lasted 2 months! I made a total of 240 masks during this time. I sold about 220 of them and gave some away to my friends and family. I was getting really tired of piecing these masks together. I made a little over $1000. This mask side hustling thing was the most worthwhile gig out of all of my side hustling gigs that I have ever done.

As far as I know, I’m done. Unless someone request orders, then naturally I would hustle.

Also, I finally made my first $100 from advertisements on this website! I hope this website can pay for itself in the future. Anyways, thank you so much, my dear readers! Thank you for taking interest in this book that I’m translating and visiting my website.

Let’s move onward, here is the first part of Chapter 64! Enjoy!

I blinked and arrived at Su Mountain. Su Mountain was made up of a continuous strip of small rolling hills, there was green grass everywhere and did not have any big trees. The people of Qian Chen Pavilion said that this place was pure like raw silk, so as a result it was named Su Mountain.

However, in my opinion, their statement was actually all a lie…

This strip of hilly land was not to be trifled with in the least. It was a place that was just a bit larger than Xi Yue Peak and was layered with hundreds of magic arrays which consisted of killing formations, mazes, and arrays within arrays. So if one carelessly took the wrong step, then one would immediately be trapped within the array.

Since ancient times, Su Mountain had been the natural defense system of Qian Chen Pavilion. After Qin Qian Xian became the Pavilion Master, apart from practicing the Bodhisattva path, he was also passionate about the study of battle formations and magic arrays, giving these natural formations an increase of viciousness.

In my opinion, this Su Mountain had the same appearance of virtues as Qin Qian Xian, a face that was both emotionless and harmless towards humans and animals, but behind one’s back, he could still even do such unscrupulous things like steal another person’s corpse.

I blinked into the sky above Su Mountain and did not dare to land. I was afraid that with one careless tread of my foot, without finding Mo Qing yet, I would end up trapped within some magic array.

As I looked down, not far away from Su Mountain was Qian Chen Pavilion. The people of Qian Chen Pavilion usually conduct themselves in a low-key manner. All of the buildings and pavilions were built low. At midnight, no one was fond of being noisy, even the oil lamp was not lit. An entire Qian Chen Pavilion that was connected to Su Mountain appeared to be just like an uninhabited place.

Therefore, in an environment such as this, the starry dots of the torches in the mountainous fields appeared to be especially eye-catching.

I used the Clairvoyance Art to look down below, there was a place where many people stood, all of them were the dark guards. While on the other side, there stood a few scattered people, dressed in plain green clothes, they were all Qian Chen Pavilion’s disciples.

I instantly blinked and landed in the place where most of Qian Chen Pavilion’s disciples stood.

At the Xian Tai Mountain Convention, Qin Qian Xian was treated in such a way and then disappeared, but his disciples did not appear to be anxious whatsoever. Some stood holding a torch, keeping a lookout into the distance. Some did not even bother to light the torch, just meditating cross-legged on the spot, submerged in tranquility, each of them completely looked like they were going to ascend into immortality.

In any case, I did not really understand their type of sect, cultivating the kind of path that gives up everything, what pleasure could they find in it.

They were scattered around, so I randomly looked at the nearest one. I walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder: “This… Uh… Bodhisattva?”

When that person turned his head, in the space between his eyebrows there was an eye-catching cinnabar mole, it was very nice-looking. As soon as he glanced at me, he immediately stood up. His attitude was gentle, as he smilingly said: “Miss Zhi Yan, why are you here?”

Oh, I almost forgot, Zhi Yan was Qin Qian Xian’s niece. So Qian Chen Pavilion’s people must recognize her appearance. But… Unfortunately, I did not know him: “I uh..”

As soon as we started to talk on this side, on the other side, lit up by the completely guarded dark guards, someone looked over.

Look at the alertness over there!

Our Wan Lu Sect’s disciples and their Qian Chen Pavilion’s disciples had two completely different styles!

I felt an untimely sense of pride, but I immediately suppressed this prideful feeling. Fortunately, this Little Cinnabar Mole had not lit a torch and the distance was so far away that the ones over there could not see clearly.

I tugged Little Cinnabar Mole’s sleeve, pulled him aside, and conveniently formed a small soundproof barrier: “I came to find my master.”

He nodded his head: “I somewhat heard about it, you acknowledged Li Chen Lan of Wan Lu Sect as your master.”

“Correct, so where’s my master? Do you know?”

  1. Thank you so much for the translation! I have definitely missed them. I’m excited to read more of the story.

Sounds like your side hustle was both worthwhile and time consuming! Thanks again for translating.

In the interim, I’ve been starting and dropping dramas with a frequency. I get tired of the damsel in distress stories and ditzy female leads- I can usually last about 15-20 episodes before I am done. I liked Zhao Yao because it’s not a false love triangle and she’s pretty badass. If anyone has any recommendations for dramas (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, etc.) with strong female leads, let me know. It can be wuxia, xianxia, modern, etc. I just want a good story that I can finish.
